Consulting and Services

LAS Ecosystem

With the LAS Ecosystem, we elevate industrial safety to a more structured level: a single point of contact and a unique, coherent, and continuous approach that supports companies in the safety of machines and plants.
On this page, you will find all the services we offer, designed to coordinate the key phases of a project.
Our method links what the standard requires to what is actually implemented through transparent, traceable documentation, reducing the risk of inconsistencies, partial interventions, or updates that are difficult to manage over time, keeping requirements, implementation, and evidence aligned. Security is easier to govern and more stable over time.

Risk analysis and drafting of the technical file (EC marking)

We support manufacturers and integrators in analysing machine risks and drafting the technical file to fully document the design choices and measures taken to reduce risk. The result is a solid technical basis for demonstrating compliance with applicable requirements and for managing audits and project updates with greater confidence over time.

On-site verification of the EC conformity status of new machinery

We carry out field checks on new machinery to assess the "CE" conformity status with respect to the applicable requirements and the available technical documentation, to identify any deviations and provide evidence that can be used to close the actions before commissioning or delivery. The verification requires the machine to be available in operating condition and the support of personnel qualified to perform functional tests, and concludes with the production of a report or technical report documenting the outcome and observations.

Performance Level (PL) of control circuits with safety function (EN ISO 13849-1)

We verify and document the Performance Level required and achieved by the safety circuits, starting from the definition of the PLr and arriving at the calculations and design checks required by UNI EN ISO 13849-1. The objective is to ensure that the safety function is designed in a manner consistent with the risk and robust even in the presence of faults, with transparent and traceable technical evidence.

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

We apply the FMEA methodology to proactively identify potential causes of product or process failures, assess their effects, and define prevention and improvement actions before problems arise in the field. The service includes setting up, conducting, and documenting the analysis in accordance with IEC 60812, with a practical approach focused on quality, reliability, and reducing stoppages.

Verification of stopping times and stopping space for the correct positioning of protective devices (EN ISO 13855)

We support the correct definition of the safety distances for protective devices based on overall stopping times and approach speeds, as required by EN ISO 13855. When necessary, we accompany actual downtime measurements with the translation of results into installation indications and technical documentation consistent with the application.

Evaluation and support for the compliance of the machinery fleet

We support companies in assessing and complying with existing machines, using a structured approach that starts from the current situation and leads to an adaptation plan aligned with real-world standards and risks. The service helps reduce risk exposure, manage priorities and interventions in an orderly manner, and maintain a more stable, manageable security posture over time.

Verification certificate and "Safety Approved" files

Upon successful verification, we can issue a verification certificate and a "Safety Approved" summary sheet to support traceability of the activities performed and the results obtained. It is a valuable tool for making verification status immediately readable and for facilitating internal sharing and customer and stakeholder communication, while maintaining a clear link between requirements, performed controls, and available evidence.

Carbon footprint and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

We calculate carbon footprints and, when required, conduct LCA analyses to assess the environmental impacts of products or processes throughout their life cycles. The service delivers measurable, documented results that support internal objectives, customer and supply chain requests, and guide design and improvement decisions in a concrete way.

Energy audit

We perform energy diagnostics to identify consumption, inefficiencies, and opportunities to reduce energy costs, translating the data into prioritised, technically feasible interventions. The service is helpful for both efficiency programs and contexts where a structured evaluation is required under applicable regulatory obligations.

Regulation (EU) 2024/1781: eco-design and sustainable products

We support companies in framing the ecodesign requirements set out in Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 and translating them into operational guidance for product development and information management across the value chain. Where relevant, we also assist in reading the impacts on traceability and product data, in preparation for market and supply chain demands.

ISO 14955: "green" machine tools and energy efficiency

We support manufacturers and users in analysing consumption and identifying interventions to improve energy efficiency, in accordance with the ISO 14955 series for machine tools. The goal is to measure and understand where absorbed energy is concentrated, and to translate this evidence into more efficient design and operational decisions.

Industrial cybersecurity: assessment and roadmap (NIST CSF 2.0)

We offer a structured framework for cyber risk across industrial and OT environments, defining an "as-is" profile and a "to-be" profile to guide priorities and improvements over time. The path is based on the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 and helps bring order to governance, protection, detection, response, and recovery through a consistent, measurable approach.

Technical design assistance through documentary support and verifications

We support manufacturers and integrators in machine design through targeted technical assistance to maintain alignment of requirements, design choices, and documentation. Collaboration can include technical reviews, document verifications, report comparisons, and evidence setup, conducted via remote meetings, to prevent rework and close critical points before installation and testing.

Design (electrical and perimeter protections)

We follow electrical design and perimeter protection standards to translate technical and regulatory requirements into solutions ready for implementation in the machine or plant. The electrical scope covers the entire design cycle, from feasibility study through testing, with diagrams and documentation developed in accordance with the machine specifications and applicable requirements. In parallel, we design modular aluminium fences that can be customised for geometries, fillings, and finishes, in compliance with EN ISO 14120:2015 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with a design that facilitates retrofits and reconfigurations over time.

Installation and commissioning

We handle the installation and commissioning of process control and industrial safety solutions, supporting the start-up phase from on-site implementation through the required checks to bring the machine or plant into operation. The aim is to ensure safe and reliable operation even after start-up, reducing the critical issues typical of the first operational phases.

Periodic post-installation machinery safety check-up

We conduct scheduled checks to maintain the effectiveness of protection measures introduced over time, intercepting wear, plant changes, or process variations that may alter the initial level of safety. The check-up includes targeted inspections of safety devices and functions, configuration consistency, and compliance with actual operating conditions, to prevent non-compliance and reduce operational risk throughout the machine's life cycle.
